December 21, 2016, the traditional Chinese winter solstice festival, is also an important milestone in the history of KINGOLD Group. The new company headquarters and its real estate business department officially moved to KINGOLD Century in Zhujiang New Town, the prosperous core business district. This relocation begins a new chapter in the development of KINGOLD Group.
At ten o'clock in the morning, the inaugural ceremony was held in the lobby on the first floor of KINGOLD Century. A number of influential people cut the ribbon for the ceremony, including Dr Chau Chak Wing, Chairman of KINGOLD Group; Dominic Trindade, Australian Consul General in Guangzhou; Didier Boschung, Swiss Consul General in Guangzhou; Eric Chow, KINGOLD Group CEO; and Kenneth Chu, Board Director. More than 60 representatives were on hand for the exciting moment, including KINGOLD executives, the designers of the building, architects, material suppliers and tenant representatives.
In his speech, Group Chairman Dr Chau Chak Wing reviewed the development of the Group and reaffirmed the core concept of “never do it or do the best.” Dr Chau also showed the guests around several floors and presented the company video.
Guests spoke highly of the new company headquarters in comparison to the other buildings in Zhujiang New Town, noting that the bamboo shape of the building is impressive, and the design of the interior space is simple and modern. Located in the core area of the CBD, KINGOLD Century is close to Huacheng Plaza and to subway stations which offer convenient transportation.
In addition to the inauguration of the new building, Kingold's new brand image was launched. The Group's new logo highlights “People,” reflecting the company's emphasis on its customers and the Group's employees who, together, work to create an ideal life. The new brand image represents a reimagined company strategy – one with greater confidence, clearer development goals, a more accurate direction, and renewed strength.
KINGOLD Century is exceptional even among high-end office buildings. In one large complex, it combines Grade A office buildings; high-end, hotel-style apartments; and commercial retail. It also plays its part in environmental protection and is a model of the smart building. In April 2015, it was certified by the United States Green Building Society as a pioneer in LEED green energy and environmental design. And as of November 2016, the office occupancy rate was already over 93%, one of the highest rates among Grade A office buildings in Zhujiang New Town.
